How pitched works

Find a private campsite in Canada
List your property
Let us know what you have to offer. Whether it's a secluded island, farm, forest, vineyard or backyard with space for a tent. Do you have facilities for cyclists,  motorcyclists, or even horses? Perhaps you have a pool, sauna or just peace and tranquillity? Share your piece of paradise.

You're in control
Why not offer camping equipment rental, free coffee, or a tour of your land? Block off dates to prevent bookings while you are away. Chat with the camper online prior to meeting them. Read reviews of campers, and review your campers after their stay. Need to cancel? Not a problem, you're in control.

Get paid securely
We collect payment at the time of booking and deposit it to your PayPal account securely after the guest has arrived. This prevents no-shows and easy cancellations for both parties. You can also set your cancellation policy to easy or strict.

FAQ's

What are the fees?
We charge a flat 10% fee on all bookings. This fee is deducted from the balance paid by the camper before it is deposited to your account. We currently deposit fund via e-Transfer so you will see your money very quickly.

What about insurance?
Many insurers are familiar with the sharing economy through opening their homes to paying guests. Before you accept any reservations, contact your insurance provider and check you're covered. Ask for “Airbnb” coverage.
What do I have to do as a host?
Well, that's up to you. You can offer a bare bones experience, allowing campers to just get on with it. Or you can offer additional services such as coffee, pitch set-up and property tours.
Make sure that your profile includes a lot of images. People make buying decisions based upon pictures and the relevancy to what they want to do or experience. The more pictures, the better!
What facilities do I need to offer campers?
Again, that's entirely up to you. Some campers prefer wild camping with no facilities. Others may prefer washroom facilities and electrical outlets. If you have space for an RV, make sure to mention this in your profile as RV camping is seamless and will not require anything other than a welcoming hello.
How can hosts make extra money?

Feel free to charge your campers for firewood, post camp clean-up if required and even think out of the box. If they are tent campers, maybe bake them some muffins and charge for a continental breakfast.
Are there zoning considerations for a campsite?
This depends on your municipality. Most municipalities are OK with the occasional camper, just like any home sharing service.
